Florence Nightigale was born May 12th 1820. She was the second child. She was named after the city of her birth. Nightingale was brought up at Lea Hall. In 1825 the family moved to Lea Hurst which nightingale had just built. After that she started visiting the poor and became very interested in the ill. She visited hospitals in london and around the country to investigate possible occupations for women there.These visits continued for 11 years. However, nursing was seen as employment that needed neither study nor intelligence; nurses were considered a little less than prostitues at that time. In 1856, Nightingale she published 2 books. She raised 50,000$ to create the nightingale school and home for nurses in london. Her father gave her 50,000$ roughly that allowed her to live comfortable and purse her career. On her 31st birthday nightingale wrote.
"i'm am 31 today and i see nothing desirable but death"
In 1833 Queen victoria awarded Florence Nightingale with a royal cross.For freedom of the city.(london) Saying that there is a statue of Florence Nightingale in london.
Florence Nightingale died on August 13, 1910, nightingale has a holiday remembering her on the lutheran calendar.
